More and more people are having trouble keeping their eyes healthy in the Digital Age. But having good vision is important so you can do all the necessary tasks required at work, home or even behind the wheel. There are some important things you must do to keep your eyes healthy:
Eat a Balanced Diet
People rarely have enough vitamins and minerals in their diet, but more than protein, antioxidants and Vitamin A, Vitamin C is important for the eyes. Eat a lot of fruits, leafy vegetables, fish and other food. Even Omega-3 that is in fish is important for the central vision of the eye. Avoid consuming alcohol as it also harms the central part of the retina.
Exercise is important to keep your body healthy and the same works for your eyes too. Exercising removes toxins and improves the oxygen level to the eyes.
Sleep is your savior
There is no tip better than getting a good night’s sleep. When you get proper sleep, you’ll be able to tell the difference yourself. Bad sleeping schedules can impact your eyes adversely.
Washing your hands is very important since you’ll occasionally be touching your eyes or rubbing them. If your hands are not clean, the risk for infection increases manifold.
When you are going outside with harsh heat, wear sunglasses to protect your eyes from UV rays. UV rays can badly damage your eyes so along with sunglasses, also wear a hat.
Use devices cautiously
Digital devices expose blue light and to filter this blue light, Lutein and Zeaxanthin exist in our eyes. But since they cannot be produced by our body, one must take diets or supplements for it. You should keep your digital devices at an appropriate length from your eyes and do not stare at a screen for more than 20 minutes.
