Though there is a fall in the number of positive cases on a daily basis which is continuing for six days at a stretch, the number of mortalities caused due to Covid-19 sees an upward movement in the last 24 hours.
According to the state health bulletin, on Tuesday, UP recorded 25,858 fresh cases and 352 fatal cases. The fresh number of positive cases amounts to 13,68,183 and the number of deaths reached an amount of 13,798.
Additional chief secretary, health and family welfare, Amit Mohan Prasad reported to TOI on the state having 38,683 recoveries, thus taking the recovery amount to 10,81,817.
He further said that after getting habituated to the new strain of the virus, the state had only 2,72,568 positive cases. In addition to that, 2.4 lakh people across the state were undergoing home quarantine. He requested all the people to maintain the Covid norms and follow all the preventive measures as far as possible.
If you follow the data minutely, it clearly points out that there is a fall in the number of cases on a daily basis but the rate of active cases is quite unsteady.
A huge number of active cases and mortalities are reported in states like Lucknow, Kanpur, Varanasi, Prayagraj, Gorakhpur and Gautam Budh Nagar, Meerut and Ghaziabad.
