Maximum people in Noida completed their first dose against Covid-19

Noida: 86% of the targeted people in Gautam Budh Nagar over the age of 45 years received the first dose of the vaccine.
The district has completed giving vaccines to one-third of the population within the age group of 18-44 years.
But Ghaziabad has managed to provide the first dose of the vaccine to only 55% of the population above the age of 45 years.
Only 10% of the population within the age of 18-44 years received the vaccine. As per the government data, Gautam Budh Nagar aims to vaccinate nearly 12 lakh of its people.
According to a source, 15 lakh people are eligible including migrants. Seven lakh people received the first dose and more than one lakh people completed both doses.
Within the age of 45+, 86% people have received a single dose of the vaccine. The total number of people within this age bracket constitutes more than three lakh.
People receiving the single dose include 85% of healthcare workers and 79% of frontline workers within the district.
Nearly 8 lakh people constitute the age bracket of 18-44 years.
Ghaziabad consists of 46 lakh people and the maximum are over 18 years of age. As per the official data, the district aims to vaccinate 23 lakh people. More than 15 lakh people constitute the age bracket of 18-44 years and more than 7 lakh people constitute the age bracket of more than 45 years. 1.5 lakh people within the age group of 18-44 years received the single dose.
Nearly 4 lakh people aged over 45 years received the first dose.
According to the official, more than 73,000 people completed their vaccines. The district has completed providing vaccination to 16,300 healthcare and 11,650 frontline workers.
As per the officials, since January 16, 7 lakh doses were provided to Ghaziabad and only 64% of the doses were given in April.
Suhas LY, district magistrate of Gautam Budh Nagar stated, “We need to vaccinate about 15 lakh people in total. There are many government and private centers that are inoculating people, including 24*7 sites and drive-through centers. People should take advantage of these facilities so that the entire population is vaccinated at the earliest.” He said that the district is leading in terms of inoculating the people throughout the state.
People living outside the state are facing problems in getting their vaccines.
In Ghaziabad, people having Aadhaar cards with their local address mentioned on them are only getting permission to get the second dose of Covaxin.
In spite of registering on the Co-Win app, the Delhi people, if they select the government vaccination center in Uttar Pradesh, the system is displaying ‘no record found.
A senior health official opined, “There are many people from Delhi, Gurgaon, and other districts outside the state who are registering themselves to get the vaccine shots here. Since doses are limited, we need to prioritize.”
