AS A FIGHT AGAINST COVID – 19, 2.5 LAKH MORE DOSES OF COVISHIELD TO BE RECEIVED BY THE STATE

JAIPUR : Giving a boost to the ongoing Covid – 19 inoculation drive, the state shall be provided with around 2.5 lakh more doses of Covishield vaccine for its frontline and healthcare workers.

For the second phase of the vaccination drive, the state government has been provided with 1,77,340 Covaxin doses and 1,31,260 doses of Covishield in the previous week. Another 2.5 lakh doses of the vaccine shall help the health department in providing vaccination to the frontline workers. The second phase of vaccination for the healthcare fighters shall be allotted from February 13. There are numerous healthcare workers who haven’t been vaccinated yet, so for this reason, the healthcare department shall provide vaccination sites for giving shots to the ones who haven’t received it yet.

Dr. Narrottam Sharma, chief medical health officer of Jaipur has said, “The left–out healthcare workers will get the first Covid – 19 vaccine in February “.

The second phrase of the vaccination drive is mainly targeted revenue department employees (22,520), local body employees (55,362), personnel of police and armed forces (1,61,236).

2,39,118 frontline workers have been registered for vaccination in Co- Win App under the second phase.

A health department official has reported, “On Monday, the frontline workers, including the police department, local bodies and revenue department officials will continue to get the Covid – 19 jab”.
